Chrome - Google	A free open-source Webbrowser created by Google. Chrome has been designed to make the Web faster, simpler and safer. Available for Windows, Linux and MAC. A drawback is that the Chrome automatic and silent updates cannot be turned off or even configured in some way.
Chromium	Chromium is the open source Web browser on which Google's Chrome browser (see above) is based. Unlike Google's Chrome, the Chromium browser does not have an auto-updater. On many Linux distributions, like Ubuntu, you can install Chromium very easily through the Linux package manager. On Windows and MAC you need to download the binaries (meaning the files that make up the program itself, not the source code) from:

K-Meleon	Good freeware open-source Web browser for Windows; it consumes less memory than Explorer or Mozilla/FireFox.
Maxthon Browser	Free Webbrowser for Windows.
Microsoft Internet Explorer	Microsoft's Web browser, freeware. It becomes part of your operating system after installation and it runs ActiveX controls, making it less secure than e.g. Mozilla.
Mozilla Firefox	Freeware open-source Web browser. We can recommend it as a stable, safe and efficient Web browser which runs on Windows, Linux, MacOS X and a number of other platforms. There is also a version which comes with a newsgroup reader and email program.
Opera	Freeware Web browser for Windows, Mac, Linux, OS/2, Solaris, FreeBSD, QNX and Symbian.
